FAQs

Why wouldn't I just hire a full-time employee?

Great question! For starters, the yearly expense for a full-time senior-level creator now surpasses $100,000. Aside from that, you may not always have enough work to keep them busy at all times, so you're stuck paying for time you aren't able to utilize. With the monthly plan, you can pause and resume your subscription as often as you need to ensure you're only paying for work as you need it.

*Is there a limit to how many design requests I can have?

Once subscribed, you're able to add as many requests to your queue as you'd like. These requests will be delivered one by one, and can move around in priority and vary as needed. Most projects will take 24-48 hours to deliver, however more involved projects can take several days or weeks to finalize.

How does the design process work?

We'll begin the process with a onboarding call to get to know you and your needs. Once goals are established, all design requests will be inputted via Trello. We'll monitor your requests, and complete them one-by-one. You'll decide if the work is ready to go or needs a revision, and you can choose the priority of the projects even if one has already started. In addition to routine check-ins, communication will mostly be done async, with the exception of any project involving production. You'll also be able to add as many team members to Trello as you'd like, so anyone can submit requests and track their progress.

How does the non-design process work?

For any production or larger based design projects such as logos and branding, the process will be specific to your needs. Contact us and we'll chat through a process that works best for your goals.

How fast will I receive the final product?

On average, most design requests are completed in just two business days or less. However, more complex requests can take longer. Any project involving production can have a varied timeline, however most projects can be completed within two weeks of the project kick-off call.

Do I have to be in Austin to work with you?

Nope! We work with brands all over the United States, traveling for productions and working remotely for pre-production, post-production, design and strategy. All Austin-based clients have the benefit of in-person meetings, and ability to pickup/drop-off products for productions rather than shipping them.

What programs do you use?

Most requests are completed in Adobe Photoshop and Figma, but we also work with Adobe Illustrator as needed. Motion projects are completed in Adobe Premiere Pro. Before any project begins, you'll be able to inquire about software, in the event the project file is needed.

Is there any work you don't cover?

Absolutely. 51–8 does not cover the following work in-house: Comprehensive website design, 3D modeling, animated graphics (GIFS, etc.), complex packaging, and extensive print design (magazines, books, etc.).
